B.1.5. Avoid errors in prepositions? Use prepositional phrases.

Most errors in the use of prepositions come from the change of preposition in 3 types of phases.

1. verb + preposition
2. adjective + preposition
3. noun + preposition

The best approach is to memorise the preposition phrases as one unit. Some common preposition phrases are shown below.

1	All students must *adhere to* the school rules.
2	This book *consists of*ten short stories
3	These wild fruits *originated in* Indonesia.
4	Bees *live on* nectar.
5	Children are advised to *abstain from* oily food.
6	Drivers must *comply with* traffic rules.
7	Singapore is *famous for* its food.
8	The court found the man *guilty of* theft.
9	Regular exercise is a *key to* good health.
10	Charlie is very *busy with* his assignment.
